Greatings all
So i have finally very nearly made it to the finishing line. Tomorrow morning I break my fast and believe me the menu planning has been going on for some time. Of course there are a number of things you need to bear in mind after a week foodless.. you have to ease your body back into it. I’ve been amusing myself with thoughts of the most inappropriate meal possible, and it’s got to be something like rare fillet steak with a generous slab of foie gras on top. not sure i am quite ready for that, but my fresh salads will taste just as fine i’m sure. a few people finish tomorrow so there’ll be a dinner & we’ve agreed to celebrate the new year on new york time, tonight’s celebration was always going to be a bit muted.
the last couple of days have been harder, energy has started to flag a little & there is a fairly relentless routine of detox drinks and pills to negotiate. I’ll be happy not to be tied to a schedule anymore. having said that, i have filled in the time easily and it has been scorching hot so no great desire to move far from the pool anyway. as for the outcome.. well i will give it a couple of days before i share my final verdict, but i am certainly more rested, cleaner of skin and whiter of eye than i was before xmas, as well as being quite a bit slimmer. there isa lot of psychological satisifaction in knowing what i’ve managed to leave behind too.. we’ll see what the physical benefits are in the days to come i’m sure. all in all in good shape for january and the apres-ski in courcheval.
have a wonderful new year all, whether you’re in or out, and here’s looking forward to a marvellous 2007!
love robin
well done robin…whilst reading your last blog it made me think of our ‘last supper’ conversation on the london to brighton bike ride. have you come to any conclusions on this? i think that, since you’ve been putting so much thought into your long anticipated future meals, you should treat yourself to whatever this (3 course) meal should be when you get back to blighty. god knows you deserve it after your week of deprivation!
enjoy your last few days senior, and happy new year!

Try this:
http://tinyurl.com/y5gagk
‘Retox’ meals you must try:
1) Beef and ale pie with stilton mash and onion gravy
Big Mac triple decker with lettuce removed
2) Suet pudding with milk sauce and fried banana
3) 1kg bar of Dairy Milk and 6 pints of Guinness
4) Veal fritters with cheese topping and pickled eggs
5) Deep fried Creme Egg surprise in lard dripping
6) Biltong with black pudding garnish and bacon bits
7) Cold pizza dipped in salad dressing to make it swallowable
9) Pot Noodle sandwich (a mate of mine recommended this — really)
10) Steak tartare (ie raw flesh) with spatchcock chicken on the side
That’ll get the colon nicely slowed down again.
But seriously, well done for getting through the week old bean, and I’m glad to hear you weren’t near the bombs.
xx
Having had a measure of your experience over the Xmas period (Lisa and myself came down with a stomach bug), I would like to congratulate you on you arse warming week.
On more legal matters, you shall be hearing from my lawyers (Messrs Colon, Power and Scheidt) . I, too, tried this so called coffee enema, and burnt me ring, though it did settle down with the addition of my usual 2 sugars and some cold milk. I contend you were criminally negligent by not offering the proviso “don’t try this at home”, although I do remember my Granny once telling me not to put my hand in a fire if someone else said or did something or other vaguely similar. My memory is not what it used to be, and I can now blame all that dairy guff i’ve been stuffing on top of my brain for all these years!
By the way, Joel dind’t mention drinking your own urine as part of your retox, you may as well got he whole hog.
Good to read you in great form, and enjoy the feeling of moral superiority, while it lasts!!
